On Sunday 19th May the club organised a Charity Football Match and Fun Day in aid of the British Heart Foundation (Charity No: 8-13816512).

Big thanks to our Match Ball sponsor Coversure Insurance Hyde and also our match sponsors The Royal Oak, The Home Guard, P.N. Scrap Metals, P&G Gardening, The Guinness Partnership and Techniweb.

The day started with a charity football match at the Lancaster Club where the Home Guard Senior team played the Home Guard Veterans. The teams played for the ‘Dave Lewtas Memorial Trophy’. Friends and family cheered on with guest appearances from Moonchester and Chaddy Owl. The senior team ran out 5-2 winners.

The day continued with a fun day back at the Home Guard with kids balloons, face painting, raffle, music, deal or no deal and a penalty shootout game.

Thanks to everyone who came along, we raised £2,685 for the British Heart Foundation.

“It’s touching to see how these players have turned the loss of their loved one into hope for other heart patients’ said BHF fundraising and volunteer manager Shirley McNally.

£600 was kindly donated by The Guinness Partnership through their helping hand scheme. Big thanks to Scott Jeffreys for organising this donation.

Also a special thanks for our raffle donations and everyone who helped on the day. We couldn’t do it without your help and support.
